Demonstrating Sustainability in Central Iowa-

Gaia Center will be an integrated learning site that will include training and demonstration of renewable energy, conservation, sustainable building and food production.

We are focused on integrating Permaculture, Alternative Building, Conservation, & Renewable Energy.

The Co-Founders are Jonathan Overlin, Executive Director and Tizzy Hyatt, Development Director.

Jonathan has a background as a jack of all trades. He has experience in construction, art, entrepreneurship and management. He designed the strawbale administration building and is building this first project on the land. He has started and run three different companies ranging from custom art to building repair to legal services.

Tizzy has been a non profit professional with many organizations. Her experience as a development director, grant writer, outreach coordinator, event planner and volunteer coordinator help inform the future of Gaia Center. Her recent work with a green building developer has included fundraising and relationship building in the green building community in Iowa.

To promote the stewardship of our resources, innovative green processes, sustainable living and integrative lessons that ensure a quality of life for this generation and the next.

Gaia Center is a Federally and State recognized 501(c)3 Environmental Education Center based in Iowa.
